Who is Roxy Burger?
I am a broadcaster and content curator. I basically love creativity in different forms: television producing and presenting, writing blog posts for my website, brainstorming and strategising. Even photography. Basically just creating!
What’s your best childhood memory?
I was lucky enough to be a part of KTV growing up, on MNET, and many Saturday mornings were spent with colleagues who became friends and then family. My happiest memories have always been on set.
If you had a chance for a “do-over” in life, what would you do differently?
Nothing. I’m not a “what if” person. I don’t like shoulda/coulda/woulda. I’m where I am for a reason and this is the path my life was meant to take. I’m pretty content with that.
What do you feel most proud of?
The longevity of my career. I have been consistently working in broadcasting for 20 years which is not easy.
If you could keep only 3 possessions, what would they be and why?
My wedding ring. For obvious reasons – it symbolises so much. My camera. To continue to take as many pictures as possible. My passport. To keep travelling.
What would you want your tombstone to say?
I probably won’t have one… ashes to ashes and all 😉
What is roxyburger.co.za?
Basically a platform for me to share everything and anything I love. It’s also a space for other women to share their opinions and viewpoints. It’s a space for me to create!
What’s your favorite kind of coffee?
I must be completely honest in that I’m not a coffee aficionado. I have a Nespresso machine (I can hear the coffee fundis gasping as I say this) so that’s pretty much what I drink at home. But more than that I love what a cup of coffee represents. A moment for yourself, to take a step back and reflect. And also a moment between friends. I will often go and meet friends for coffee so the social interaction that happens over a hot brew for me is something to really look forward to.
In which coffee shops are we likely to bump into you?
What does a perfect day look like?
One spent on set or with my family and friends. I’m incredibly lucky to love the life I live. My days are never ever the same and that’s what I love about it.
